What is text summarization?

Text summarization uses natural language processing techniques to identify salient properties of documents and texts. For example, you could summarize a document into a few paragraphs or sentences to get the gist of what it is saying in order to determine whether or not to read it in greater detail. Or you might extract keywords from a document in order to group it with other similar documents. In each case, the particular task you want to automate will require a tailored dataset to train a model.
